“ANTI-LIFE: Sexual Immorality”

“And such WERE some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified …”. - I
Corinthians 6:11

The biblical definition of “hypocrite” is one who does not confess their own sin, while passing
judgment on the sins of others.

GOD declares in His Word that SIN leads to separation from Him, and ultimately to eternal
DEATH.

Sin that is celebrated is “ANTI - LIFE” because it is contrary to the life-giving power of Christ’s
Spirit.
Recognizing and following God’s design for human sexuality is a necessary part ion living the
sanctified life of the Spirit.

I. LIFE: God’s gift, God’s design, God’s blessing of human sexuality …

“So God created man in His own image … male and female, He created them.” - Genesis 1:27-28

The inability and unwillingness of some to define a woman reveals a willing rebellion against God’s
design.

The sexual intimacy of a man and a woman in marriage was designed by God not only for physical
pleasure, but as an expression of emotional and spiritual oneness.

God’s gift of sexuality is life - giving only when expressed between a man and a woman in the
relationship of marriage.

II. DEATH: the perversion of God’s gift, the rejection of God’s design for human sexuality … and
His subsequent judgment.

“Do not be deceived!” - I Corinthians 6:9

There is no “alternative” to God’s design.

The real issue is not just human sexuality, but the authority of the very Word of GOD.

Sexual immorality of all kinds is condemned by God because it proud es separation from Him and
reveals a mind focused on SELF and the things of this world.

Sexual immorality is one of the worst forms of idolatry!

Sexual immorality always begins in the mind. It is a perversion of God’s design and a rejection of
the truth of His Word.

III. HOPE: God’s command to speak truth to those in bondage to sin …

The ONLY cure for deception is TRUTH … and the only source of absolute truth is God’s Word!

God offers hope for deliverance from any and every sin.

You are called and sent to expose the darkness and to shine the light of God’s truth as you offer
forgiveness to those who confess their sin and turn from it by the power of the Spirit.

CHANGE is possible because GOD is in the life-transforming business!

When the church stops naming sin and calling people to repentance, the church fails in its mission
to offer LIFE in Christ!!

By living in obedience to God’s Word you discover LIFE … true freedom to be the person God
created you to be!!
