The Alteans have finally made their way to the Fane of Raman. The Star and Light Spheres will enable Gotoh to forge a weapon capable of taking down the vile wizard Gharnef. All who entered this sacred place are almost visibly trembling it is as though humans were not supposed to be here. Upon penetrating past the main hall the Raman Warrior Monks bonded to the divine dragon Tiki daughter of the goddess Naga. Unfortunately, they are under the divine dragon's spell, but she is being controlled by the vile Gharnef. Marth is forced to conduct room to room raids to make certain he has acquired what is necessary to defeat Gharnef, and Medeus.

Amenable to Medeus, Gharnef has chosen to put an emphasis upon protecting the Fane of Raman in order to protect the daughter of Naga. However, unbeknownst to the prince of the earth dragons Gharnef is fostering Tiki as a potential weapon aside from Imhullu, and eventually the Falchion. Gharnef cannot stand to set foot within the fane longer than five minutes, and he finds the shrine distasteful to visit. Yet his poisonous words, and spells have enough power to hypnotize Tiki into a state of subservience. As long as Tiki orders it, the monks of Raman will willingly sacrifice their lives in favor of their dragon as was the standard in the days of old. Part of what we consider human being our free will is lost in them, and to our eyes it is a mercy to end their bondage. This is more of a storytelling device than a challenge.

We have to recall that gameplay is meant to be an extension of story beyond the text. Therefore, it is purposefully thematic that we recruit Tiki, and acquire the two spheres for Gotoh. There needs to be enemies in order to make the map worth playing, and as it turns out, dragons are meant for a later chapter. So this is by no means a challenge, although when we face down Camus we will be faced with a story beat alongside more difficulty. I think the hardest part about this battle would be if I were to open up a room without having units at the ready to knockout the units behind the door. We got through this chapter easily because I was not willing to enter a room blind without there being a mountain of troops at my disposal to rise to the challenge. It must be that Gharnef does not know of the power imbued in either the light or star sphere, is this a plot hole in your opinion?
