This lesson shows us The LORD is very concerned for the lost but Because of HIS HOLINESS HE must judge wickedness. Sodom and Gomorrah are judged and their destruction is eminent. Abraham is prompted by the Holy Spirit to pray for anyone that could be spared; this is the Heart of our Heavenly Father in sending us HIS Son, Jesus. Jesus said of Himself in Luke 19:10“… the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost”. We also see another hint of the rapture of Church, as the angels remove (righteous) Lot, separating him and his family from the judgement and wrath to come.
