Has there been any time you have heard a speaker who is not only dedicating their life to eradicating bonded labor but also speaking a lot about modern slavery? The story of Commander Ashok V.M. Kumar, who has been considering the silent and secret pain experienced by individuals subjected to this coercive form of work, is what he is addressing in the speech. By borrowing the quote “Justice for the poor king” Ashok broadly engages and brings forth vivid occurrences involving people facing private bondage in several parts of the world. It is the stories of people who succeeded in escaping the walls of their prisons and transformed into a much more positive lifestyle full of hope and belief. The striking force of the sharing through Ashok is to make the audience understand the real experiences of bonded laborers that have hence enhanced the transformation of the donations made by one woman. In an environment of utmost pressure and coercion, bonded labor can expand to become like a complex but organized business that operates as organised crime on how bonded labor practices are devised. Ashok V.M. Kumar (Retd.) is a former Naval officer who had a distinguished career with the Indian armed forces. He is an alumnus of the prestigious 94th National Defence Academy and the 56th Integrated Cadet Course of the Indian Naval Academy. Cdr. Ashok has been combating human trafficking syndicates for years, directly rescuing thousands of women and children from human slavery. He has been recognized for his exemplary service and achievements with several prestigious awards:

- Chief of the Naval Staff Meritorious Commendation
- Director General Indian Coast Guard Meritorious Medal
- Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Commendation for saving lives on a burning vessel
