Deirdre Cooper Owens, PhD, is the author of Medical Bondage: Race, Gender, and the Origins of American Gynecology. She helped launch the second challenge the CTSC's 2nd Annual Health Equity Challenge Series, a book discussion about the text that she wrote. A group of community members, researchers, clinicians, and representatives from philanthropy and government convened at the Cleveland Botanical Garden on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 to hear Dr. Cooper Owens speak.
