Funding sources and opportunities for brownfields redevelopment, economic development, and affordable housing.

California is experiencing significant new challenges due to the effects of Covid-19 and an unprecedented budget crisis - in addition to the already serious affordable housing crisis. Brownfields, particularly in urban infill areas, can successfully be redeveloped into housing or other economically productive uses with significant community benefits. However, funding sources for brownfields fall far short of the need, particularly for early "at risk" soft costs. We believe policy shifts and funding sources could make a big difference.

Moderated by Dan Johnson of SCS Engineers, this interactive session features public and private sector experts who will share the latest information and insights about funding sources and opportunities for infill, affordable housing, and contaminated sites in California - including proposed legislation and budget requests for new sources of brownfield funding in excess of $100 million.
