HOME MADE AREPAS ON CZAR'S KITCHEN

One of the things that we love to do is trying different types of cuisine. I guess you can say that we like to put our taste buds to the test.

Come along and join us as we show you how to make Arepas!

Arepa is a staple food in Colombia and Venezuela. My Venezuelan friend mentioned how filling it is and its really good and versatile. It is quick and easy to make and all the ingredients you need can be found in your kitchen… well, unless you don’t use cornmeal or flour that often.

It is made of ground maize meal or flour. It is round and flat, and you can either grill, bake, pan-fry or steam it.

We are going to be using corn flour as we have it available in our pantry.

For the filling, my friend told me that you can put anything you want like cheese, avocados, various meats, eggs… in short, whatever tickles your fancy.

For us, we have some leftover meats in the refrigerator and that is what we are going to be using as fillings for our Arepas.
