Sermon Series: ABCs of Financial Freedom
Sermon Scriptures: Deuteronomy 28:1-14, Luke 21:1-4, 2 Corinthians 8:1-9
Bondage to Listening?
Debt is a subtle but deadly snare.
Do not be an expert in rationalizing the irrational.
Bondage to Blessing?
Debt affects everything we do. It becomes the lens through which everything else is filtered, said, and done.
The Bible doesn’t explicitly forbid debt, but it does discourage debt.
Consider how we can be the blessings that God intends for us to be when we continue to live in chains and shackles.
God intends for us to be lenders and not borrowers. - Deuteronomy 28:12
If you are in debt, seek to get out of it as quickly as possible. - Psalm 37:21-26
The longest term of debt in Scripture was SEVEN years. - Deuteronomy 15:1-2
God intends us to use His wealth as leverage for advancing His kingdom! - Matthew 25:14-30
Why is gifting better than co-signing? - Proverbs 6:1-5, - Proverbs 22:26-27
Bondage to Extravagance?
Perfect conditions to give extravagantly will never exist.
Mentality and perspective shift: Giving is a privilege and not an obligation.
Extravagance will frequently seem crazy!!!
