In August 2012, 36-year-old Elaine O'Hara disappeared from her home in Dublin, Ireland. Known to have struggled with mental health issues, her initial disappearance was presumed to be a suicide. However, in September 2013, her remains were discovered in the Dublin Mountains, leading to a comprehensive investigation. Evidence, including personal items and mobile phone data, linked architect Graham Dwyer to her death. The investigation revealed a disturbing relationship between O'Hara and Dwyer, involving coercion and violence. In 2015, Dwyer was convicted of her murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. He subsequently appealed the conviction, challenging the admissibility of mobile phone data used in the trial. In July 2024, Ireland's Supreme Court unanimously dismissed his appeal, affirming the original verdict.
