We are often cautious about making New Year’s Resolutions, fearful that we will fail to keep them, but we cannot leave in doubt the seriousness of our allegiance to God, which is best expressed by way of promises.

As the service concludes with the Eucharist, we go forward knowing that God is not only with us, but also within us, so we are strong in the strength which God supplies through his eternal Son and Holy Spirit.
