What if Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan & Anakin LEFT the Jedi Order?
OBI-WAN (soft, trembling):
Master… please, stay with me.
Qui-Gon Jinn, the wise and maverick Jedi Master, lies on the polished floor, struggling to breathe. Moments ago, Obi-Wan struck down Darth Maul—an elusive Sith warrior—sending the tattooed Zabrak plummeting into the depths. Yet the victory rings hollow. Maul’s crimson blade has left Qui-Gon gravely wounded.
QUI-GON (weakly, but eyes still sharp):
The Force… is not done with me yet, Obi-Wan.
OBI-WAN (voice unsteady):
You’ve lost so much blood… let me call a medic. Don’t speak; just conserve your energy.
Before Obi-Wan can act, the sound of hurried footsteps echoes down the corridor. Anakin Skywalker—a young boy of only nine, brimming with worry and untapped potential—arrives. His eyes go wide at the sight of Qui-Gon, and he skids to a halt beside him.
ANAKIN (frantic, near tears):
Master Qui-Gon! Hang on! We’ll get you to the med bay. We have to!
QUI-GON (soft, eyes closing briefly):
Anakin… I will not let them take you. The Council… they will not see…
Confusion and fear cloud Anakin’s face. For a moment, Obi-Wan can only stare, uncertain whether Qui-Gon’s words stem from delirium or crystal-clear insight. But he presses on, scooping Qui-Gon up with all the care he can manage. Soldiers and medics rush in, guiding them to the medical chambers. As they lift off the floor, the scene dissolves into a new day, tension undercut by faint hope.
In a pristine wing of Theed Palace, where the hum of machines and the soft beep of monitors provide a fragile sense of comfort, Qui-Gon Jinn’s recovery begins in earnest. Obi-Wan refuses to leave his side, even as the entire planet celebrates its freedom from the Trade Federation’s blockade.
OBI-WAN (sitting on a stool, leaning forward):
You nearly died, Master. The doctors say you’re not out of danger yet.
QUI-GON (managing a half-smile):
The Force is strong here. Naboo is rich with life. I can feel it healing me.
Suddenly, Queen Amidala—Padmé—enters, accompanied by her loyal guard, Captain Panaka, and a pair of handmaidens. Concern etches her regal features; gratitude is evident in her eyes.
PADMÉ (softly):
Master Qui-Gon, I want to thank you, again, for saving us all. Naboo owes you a debt we can never repay.
