There's a lot of inking power on both teams, which will probably charge our Special weapons pretty quickly. The early battle goes well enough for our team, and I splat the Splash-o-matic trying to pressure our Splat Charger, running in to enough clams to make a power clam in the process. I chance my arm by heading down the ink rail, which really shouldn't work, but my stumbling causes the Splattershot Pro to miss me, and I take advantage of the tiny window of opportunity to break the yellow barrier.
My squidmates add more clams to the basket, but I don't count on it staying open for long, heading back defensively instead. I ink some turf, send some Curling Bombs forward for opportunistic splats or just decoy ink trails, and activate the ink rail as a diversion. Pushing forwards sees the yellow pity power clam about to be reclaimed, a quick turning getting a splat and dropping the clams I need for my own power clam. I score it, and patrol the zone to help my squidmates if they have clams. I have too much confidence in my aim to use my Splooshdown, which is a shame.
More clams are scored, so I look to head back quickly with more clams, but the basket closes before I get close. Even so, I manage to make another power clam before the barrier drops, putting me in a somewhat awkward position for a few seconds. No one hassles me, though, so I score again, get a splat, and start looking for clams as my squidmates keep the score ticking over. I can't find any clams, as my squidmates have them all, until heading back to the basket to support them runs me in to a clutch. I grab them, get a splat, and use my Splooshdown this time. I chase another splat, but the Splash-o-matic's moves are pretty good.
I do some inking, keeping the route to our basket difficult for the yellow team, circling back to tidy up after some Tenta Missiles fly in. That has my chasing a power clam with yellow ink tickling my heels for longer than is comfortable, but I manage to turn the tables eventually. My little Sploosh-o-matic just has the range to stop the Splash-o-matic from getting to our basket, and the super-jumper's landing point has become rather dangerous.
Pushing forwards finds a few clams, and a squidmate with a lot more heading towards the basket. I head that way to ink and apply some pressure, tussling when I get there with the Splattershot Pro. The scenery and my Splooshdown protects me from their Bubbles, but did they just throw a clam at me? I think they did. And their squid-partying pretty much confirms it. Well, I can't splat them in good conscience now, so I join in with the dancing.
There is action elsewhere, but it doesn't seem important at the moment. I'm sure the rest of the two teams probably don't appreciate what's happening, but given the drubbing we've given the yellow team so far, I think it's worth taking a small break to enjoy ourselves a little without pressure. Then again, if I hadn't been dancing with my new pal, maybe we could have ended the battle sooner, as my squidmates put us three clams away from victory. Oh well!
I come back to find my Splattershot Pro friend looking to continue our fun, which is stopped by collateral inking, and seeking them as they come out of base just has me getting splatted by the N-ZAP '89, not putting up with any of my nonsense. That's fair enough. The final seconds of the battle has everything back to normal, and the yellow team finally break our barrier too, extending things in to extra time. I'm squished by a big Hammer, and more clams hit our basket, giving the yellow team a respectable score, but my squidmates splat the team away, securing our comfortable victory all the same. Woomy!
