• What is Life? Life is more than mere existence; Jesus came to give you life in abundance (John 10:10). Life is only available in the Spirit—this is when you’re having your being in God (i.e. living in the Spirit).
• What is Death? Death before the cross meant separation from God; through His death, Jesus abolished death (2 Timothy 1:10).
• Did Jesus Really Abolish Death? Yes! But many misunderstand what “death” truly means in Scripture.
• Fear of Death is Bondage – Jesus destroyed the one who had the power of death (the devil), setting us free (Hebrews 2:14-15).
• Jesus Preached the Good News to the Dead – After His death, Jesus descended to the place of the dead and set captives free from death and hell (1 Peter 3:19).
• Eternal Life and Living Forever – Jesus’ mandate was to totally rid us of death. He kept declaring that there were those who would never taste death (John 8:51). If you’re baptized into Jesus’ death and step into the Spirit, you can live and never die.
• Resurrection & Immortality – To live forever, we must dwell in Christ and renew our minds (1 Corinthians 15:50).
• Overcoming Death’s Grip – We inherit the Kingdom by dying to our own will and embracing the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16).
