A film created for my film class- I really centered it around the fear of growing up as a girl- about fears most girls my age share, becoming an overworked housewife. Don't get me wrong, some girls dream of being a housewife one day (women simply have the natural instinct to take care of things sometimes), but as someone who has other ambitions, becoming a housewife really means being "tied down" in my opinion. My film is in a way to comfort myself.... telling my future self that no matter where my life takes me, having my own family, becoming a housewife, it doesn't mean it's the end of the road to chase dreams, to accomplish little goals. I begin the film with "Once upon a time" as a little girl is reading (thinking) about her dreams of ballerinas and whatnot. The film quickly spirals into a montage of a documentary, filled with interviews with housewives and other women. With all of the footage, I end it with "Once upon a time" again, to prove that your "Once upon a time" can be anytime in life, even after being "tied down". Never stop dreaming!
