Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., questioned U.S. attorney general nominee Pam Bondi in a confirmation hearing Wednesday held by the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Booker asked the nominee if the Justice Department under her leadership would defend access to medication abortion and challenge lawsuits seeking to make mifepristone harder to get.

Bondi said she would not let her personal beliefs affects how she acts. Bondi described herself as pro-life.

Bondi is a former Florida attorney general and has been a longtime ally of President-elect Donald Trump. This is the first of two hearings the committee has scheduled for the nominee.
