Correction; in this video I say the definition in Latin for Christian is one that belongs to God it’s actually one that belongs to Christ. Sorry about that

The Kind of People Christians Should Be
Ephesians 4:20-3

Bitterness, wrath, anger and clamor are business as usual in our society today. Evil speaking is the lingo of the day. We see it in the news, on social media, and even in direct dealings with each other. People are just not nice anymore, and our culture has become a mean culture. Sadly, Christians are not exempt from this, and in some cases, we are leading the charge.

It is a challenge. Evil around us abounds; we are expected to not only accept evil things, but to embrace and celebrate them. God’s Word teaches us to confront evil, and to “earnestly contend for the faith” (Jude 3). As sinful humans, it is hard to not be angry at a world that seems determined to do itself, and us, in. How can we carry out all that and not be forceful and angry about it? Well, the short answer is that we must; Jesus said so. Our passage today is not ambiguous, and it is not qualified in any way. Bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, malice and evil speaking have no place in the Christian repertoire. We are to replace them all with forgiveness as big as that of Jesus Christ.

No matter how angry the evil around us makes us, expressing that anger will change nothing. We can scream at sinners until we turn purple, and not a single heart will change. Should we point out sin? Of course, that is part of becoming saved, and the understanding of our sin. But we cannot leave the conversation there. Jesus offers forgiveness to the worst of the worst; if we claim Him as our example, then we need to offer it as well.

JUST A THOUGHT: Why do we insist the nonbelieving world change their lives, when we so often are not willing to change our own?
