“The Power to Stand Strong” - Pastor Johnny Willis
Genesis 17:1
“When Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared unto Abram and said unto him; I am the almighty God, walk before me and be thou perfect.”
- Every challenge that comes form God is beyond our own natural abilities.
If we come up with our own plans and solutions, that takes no faith.
- God wants His Children to pray standing in the omnipotence of His power.
That’s when we reveal to Him that we can’t do this without Him!
That’s when we in desperation plead the blood of Jesus Christ!
God specializes in things that seem impossible.
- All power in the whole realm of the universe is found in God.
That’s the truth that God wants every Believer to realize.
- When we acknowledge the power of God it should impact the way we live.
God addressed Himself to Abram in Genesis 17:1 “…I am the Almighty God.”
Almighty God Means: “The God of All Might and of All Power.”
- Our concept of God will govern our actions and our attitude.
What I think of God will allow certain things into my life. My estimation of God will remove certain activities and attitudes from my life.
- God’s unlimited power is available to His Children.
All God has to do is Speak into our lives.
Who can make us a “New Creature” but God?
Who can forgive your sins and write your name in the Lambs Book of Life but God?
THE OMNIPOTENCE OF GOD WILL DECLARE ITSELF IN 3 AREAS OF YOUR LIFE:
1. In our prayer life.
If you believe that God is omnipotent and has no limitations. If you believe that God is the self-existent source of all power, then you will come to him in confidence.
We fail to realize that God’s omnipotence is available to His Children.
2. The omnipotence of God will seen in the pathway of our daily life.
The Way You Live Every Day!
Psa. 71:15-18 (Before David died, he wanted God to express His power in his life).
3. The omnipotence of God will be seen in our performance.
God never intended for You and I to do anything for Him in our own strength.
John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches; He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
- Whatever God has required of us He is committed to giving us the power to do it.
You can do anything that is the ‘Will of God’ for you to do! But outside of God’s will you run in your own strength and energy.
Matt. 28:18 “And Jesus spake unto them saying: all power is given unto me both in Heaven and in earth.”
That means: He’s Omnipotent!
Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the earth.”
Because He has saved us and commissioned us He has given us His power.
